Rev. Donna Webster

Senior Pastor

Rev. Webster began her ministry here at Perseverance on November 27, 2022, which was the first Sunday in Advent. She brings with her years of ministerial experience from the Disciples of Christ tradition. Rev. Webster served as Director of Women’s Ministries for the Christian Church in Virginia for eight years, served three years as pastor for First Christian Newport in Newport, VA, served 17 months as Transitional Pastor for Central Presbyterian Church in Princeton, KY, and served as regular supply for Rolling Springs Christian Church, near Cadiz, KY for five months before being called to Perseverance. Rev. Webster is married to Rev. Dr. Jonathan Webster. The Webster’s have one son, Ben, daughter-in-law Emma, and two granddogs, Moose and Marina. Donna enjoys cooking new recipes, independent film, hiking, kayaking, and a little fishing. She has an undergraduate degree from California University of Pennsylvania, received her Master of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary, and is a trained facilitator for Prepare and Enrich© and Worship and Wonder. Rev. Webster was ordained by the Christian Church in Virginia on January 9, 2022, at Unity Christian Church in Radford, VA.

Larry way

Adult Choir Director

Larry is the Adult Choir Director at Perseverance Christian Church.  He also plays bass in the Praise Group.  Larry is a graduate of West Virginia University where he earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education.  His main instrument was the trumpet.
Larry and His Wife Terri are from Northern Virginia (come heres) where Larry worked  as media professional in safety and security training for aviation employees and Terri worked in Marketing.
Larry and Terri owned a small boutique audio/video studio in Frederick Maryland and produced radio and tv ads as well as long format documentaries and music videos.
Larry started playing the trumpet in the fourth grade and has been playing in one sort of ensemble ever since.  He played in all the show rooms in Atlantic City, Las Vegas, the Caribbean.  Along the way he started arranging and composing music for video which combined his interest in video and music. 
While here in Dundas Larry started playing the bass guitar and was hooked.  He is currently studying bass with Steve Jenkins a bass player from LA and is part of a yearlong college study for bass called blueprint for bass

Joan Parrish

Praise Group Director & Organist

Joan Taylor Parrish grew up in Perserverance Christian Church and has always had a love for music. Baptized at 13 years, she also began playing piano for Sunday School. When the church organist planned to leave for college, she taught Joan to play the organ. She continues to play today, accompanying our pianist. She has also served as pianist, choir director, accompanying our church quartets and singing in the Perserverance Girls Quartet.

In 2022, Joan formed a Praise Group of singers and instrumentalists who continue to gather each Monday at 7:00 p.m. This group provides music for each 3rd Sunday worship, and throughout the year provides special music for our neighbors residing in our local nursing and retirement facilities.

Joan is an active member of CWF (Disciple Women). She is married to her high school sweetheart, Wayne Parrish, and is an active member of Perserverance. Joan and Wayne have three children (Debbie, Sherry, and Jeff), seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She loves spending time with family, music, growing flowers and cooking. 

Sue Palmer 

Pianist

Sue Palmer serves as pianist for Perserverance Christian Church; in addition to playing for worship services, Sue also accompanies the Adult Choir and Praise Group. She is from Dundas, VA and the daughter of Ben and Fanky Wilkinson. Sue began taking piano lessons at the age of nine and continued her studies throughout her high school years. She then majored in Music Education at Longwood College in Farmville, VA. Sue received a bachelor's degree in music education with a major concentration in piano and minor concentration in voice.  Sue taught general elementary music as well as high school choir in the counties of Prince George, Lunenburg, and Charlotte. Sue is currently a music activity specialist at Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Burkeville, VA where she provides music-based interventions to enable mental health patients to reach their treatment goals.
